Custom Kitchen in Native Koa Wood and Materials

A bamboo inspired lamp sits on top of the bar cabinet at the edge of the open kitchen and retractable glass wall.

All furniture, lamps and decor were furnished by Nest of Grand Traverse.  Pictured here are two solid coffee table pushed together to create one large surface. Hand stamped cement floors are stained to echo their surroundings and are carried outside for a seamless expansion to the outdoor living space.

Simple, clean design with special points of interest begins at the front door and carries through the home out to the retractable glass walls that face the ocean.

The above photo is taken standing outside looking into the house with the retractable walls open.  The furniture in the living room is all handmade of solid wood, woven leather and easycare fabrics. This combination of furnishings makes this home stylish and low maintenance for the homeowner.

View from the infinity pool...  Paradise Found...

Infinity pool overlooks the ocean. The warmth of the sun provides the heat for the pool.  Another "Green" plus for this tropical retreat.

Step outside and this is the perfect place to grab a book or whale watch! Natural weaves were selected for the outdoor covered areas with fabrics and materials that draw on the interior finishes to blend the spaces seamlessly.  The owners of this home want to spend as much time outdoors as possible so this design blurs the line between interior and the exterior living.

At sunset, the sun beams on to the lanai and into the living spaces.

Local lava rock used on the front of the home provides a natural wall for the pool and lanai's. Lava and other materials from the surrounding area were utilized to create the landscape and inspire the overall design.  Blending the house with the natural suroundings was a goal of this design.

Two master suites each have an outdoor, lava adorned, shower at either end of the home.

Handmade furniture fill the bedrooms made of native Koa wood.  Here you can see the stamped, colored concrete floors that flow throughout this home and out to the pool.
