Nest of Grand Traverse reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. For this reason, we encourage you to review these Terms and Conditions whenever you purchase products from us or use our Web Site.  Our boutique stores may have a different return policy.  Please check with a store to find out the in-store policy.


Many products displayed on our Web Site are available in the Nest of Grand Traverse Store located at 218 East Front Street, Traverse City, Michigan. In some cases, merchandise displayed for sale on our Web Site may not be available in the store. Please note that the actual colors and sizes of products will depend on your monitor, we cannot guarantee that your monitor's display of any color will be accurate. The prices displayed on our Web Site are quoted in U.S. Dollars and are valid and effective only in the U.S.


Nest of Grand Traverse’s shipping and processing charges are intended to compensate our company for the cost of processing your order, handling and packing the products you purchase and delivering them to you. Our goal is to insure your items are safely delivered to you in a timely manner.

Nest of Grand Traverse makes every effort to pack items so they will arrive to you in good condition. Nest remains sensitive to current environmental concerns and makes every effort to re-use and recycle boxes and other packaging materials wherever possible. Nest does not ship outside the United States at this time. In some instances, Nest is able to ship outside of the United States, please go to our "Contact Us" page to inquire.  If there is a delay in shipping your order, we will notify you by mail or email. Some items sent directly from our suppliers may take longer, and items ordered together may not arrive in the same box.

*Note:  Freight & Shipping charges that exceed the estimated amount, will be charged to the customer.  If it is an item being sent United Parcel Service, you will be contacted prior to shipping.  If it is a freight item, every effort will be made to contact you prior to shipping. In those cases where we are unable to contact you prior to the carrier picking it up, charges will be collected prior to its delivery to your home.  Clients are responsible for the total freight and shipping charges occured for the delivery of their items. 

Alaska & Hawaii Shipping

When shipping standard size items to Alaska and Hawaii, add additional $17.95 surcharge. Express delivery is not available to Hawaii and Alaska. Due to some oversized items, we may not be able to ship some products to Hawaii and Alaska.  In cases where we are unable to ship, we will notify you via email.


*Some oversized or heavier items will show an additional shipping surcharge in the items detailed description ($) and at check-out. Allow approximately 48 hours to process your order. Handling fees will show at check out.


Nest of Grand Traverse collects state sales tax for orders purchased and shipped in Michigan.


If any merchandise arrives broken, spoiled or damaged, please call us at 231-946-0232 within 48 hours and we'll replace it (if possible).  Contact Nest of Grand Traverse for further instruction on what to do with damaged items.  If for some reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase or gift for any reason, you can return your items for a prompt refund or exchange.  Refunds for items returned within thirty days of the purchase date will be credited in the same form as the original payment type less the cost of shipping and handling.  Products must be received by Nest within the allowed 14 days.  You may also bring the purchase ,with your receipt, to the store for  a refund or immediate exchange.  Please note that all online returns must accompany the original paperwork and receipt/ gift receipt.  All product original packaging must be returned, intact.  Items must be unused and unassembled, in their original condition, and in their original packaging, complete with all tags, instructions, and insert. Unless otherwise specified by Nest of Grand Traverse, all returns must be shipped back using the same method it was shipped (UPS, Freight, White Glove, etc.). Nest of Grand Traverse will provide you with detailed shipping instructions, including where to ship the items. If you are uncertain about any of the return details, please email info@nestofgrandtraverse.com. (*Exceptions are products that are custom made, which are boldly denoted on the individual product pages or listed below).  Items that are handmade such as woven products and items made of reclaimed or recycled material are imperfect due to their handcrafted nature.  These items, if returned, do not qualify as "damaged" or "flaud" because of their handmade characteristics and do not qualify for free shipping returns.   If the return is not do to damaged done in shipping the merchandise, you will be responsible for the shipping cost back to Nest of Grand Traverse (or the manufacturer) as well as return shipping if item is exchanged. Please note that for items that include free shipping, customers will be responsible for round-trip shipping costs for any returns that are not damaged or incorrect.

Gift receipts are refunded by method of exchange or merchandise credit.  Items returned for a refund, exchange or merchandise credit shall receive the product cost minus shipping & handling charges.  We regret that food and personal care items, cleaning products, and paper goods cannot be returned.  Customized and furniture items cannot be returned unless there is a shipment error or manufacturing defect which must be reported to Nest within 24 hours of delivery.  See the "Damaged Furniture" section for further information.  Sale / Clearance items are final sales.  All damaged orders must be reported within 2 days of receiving your package and original packaging must be kept for claiming purposes.  If an item is returned to Nest of Grand Traverse and arrives damaged, it is the sole responsibility of the customer to file any and all claims with the shipper (USPS, FedEx, or UPS).  All returned items that arrive damaged will not be refunded or returned.  All broken product not picked up by the shipper within 30 days of arriving at Nest, will be disposed of.  Broken items where a claim has been denied, may be picked up by client if a copy of the denied claim is provided within 30 days of its arrival to Nest.  *The policy regarding damaged shipments and claims applies to items purchased in-store and through our website.

 *Nest of Grand Traverse boutique store's return policy differs from our online policy so please consult your receipt for items purchased at our store.  For further assistance regarding our in-store policy, please call 231-946-0232.

*Because the following items are made to order by our supplier, they are therefore custom, and cannot be returned or exchanged:

Please return in an appropriate box and any original packaging material and make sure it is properly insured. Returns must be shipped prepaid and by a traceable method.  We cannot accept C.O.D. packages. Include the following inside the box:  Original Packing Slip / Receipt, Your Name, Address, Phone Number, Item number, Reason for return. Please indicate whether you would like a replacement or Merchandise Credit. *Please note that all honored returns and exchanges must have the original receipt or gift receipt. Items not packaged appropriately will not be accepted for return.

Where a refund applies, please allow one billing cycle for a credit card refund to appear on your statement. Shipping and handling are credited only when an item is incorrectly shipped or arrives defective or damaged. If paying by check, a refund check will be sent once the customer's check has cleared.  Gift returns will be credited with a merchandise credit or exchange.


To cancel an order of a backordered item, please contact us at 231.946.0232. Please note that some backordered items will ship prior to the date stated. Nest of Grand Traverse cannot cancel an order for any item after the item has been picked for shipping (you can, of course, return the item under the standard return policy). Special orders can not be cancelled.


Standard shipping of furniture is to your door. If you are interested in White Glove delivery, please contact Nest customer service for a quote 231.946.0232 Furniture cannot be express delivered or shipped outside of the continental United States.  Charges for furniture items are charged at time of order including tax and freight / delivery charges.  Nest can not be held responsible for personal property damage caused by UPS / FedEx / or other freight / delivery carriers when delivering to your home.


Nest of Grand Traverse warrants our furniture products purchased through our vendors, only and up to their limited warranty policies. Nest of Grand Traverse does not warrant against damages or defects arising out of improper or abnormal use or handling of the products: neglect, commercial, rental or leasing, destruction caused by normal wear, or against defects or damage arising from improper installation if installed by someone other than Nest of Grand Traverse. Repairs made by someone other than Nest of Grand Traverse will void the limited warranty.

Exclusive Obligation - Under no circumstances, whether based on limited warranty or otherwise, shall Nest of Grand Traverse be liable for incidental, special or consequential damage.  Nest of Grand Traverse warrants our furniture products purchased through our vendors, only and up to their limited warranty policies.  Nest of Grand Traverse employee's, representative's or manufacturers oral or written statements do not constitute warranties, should not be relied upon by the buyer and are not a part of the contract for the sale of this limited warranty. This limited warranty states the entire obligation of Nest of Grand Traverse, with respect to the product manufactured, distributed or soldIf any part of this limited warranty is determined to be void or illegal, the remainder shall remain in full force and effect.

NOTE:  All coupon code promotions for free freight do not apply to furniture items unless specifically noted in the text of the promotion to include furniture. 


If you receive a furniture item that is damaged during shipping, it must be clearly noted on the bill of lading prior to the delivery truck leaving the item.  All damages to furniture must be reported to Nest of Grand Traverse within 24 hours of delivery.  Nest of Grand Traverse reserves the right to either have the item locally repaired or replace it. All original packaging must be retained until claim has been settled and Nest notifies you to dispose of the packaging.


Nest of Grand Traverse would like to hear what you think about our site. However, any comments, feedback, notes, messages, ideas, suggestions or other communications sent to our Web Site shall be and remain the exclusive property of Nest of Grand Traverse. Your submission of any such Replies or Comments shall constitute an assignment to Nest of Grand Traverse of all worldwide rights, titles and interests in all copyrights and other intellectual property rights in the Comments.
